Threat Hunting Services

Look for the attacker activity your alerts are not catching, and turn what we learn into lasting detections.

Overview

Threat hunting assumes that some malicious activity can evade automated controls. Our hunters form hypotheses based on threat intelligence and attacker techniques, then search your endpoint, identity, network and cloud telemetry for evidence of them.

Business objectives

  • Uncover suspicious activity that evaded existing controls
  • Reduce the time an attacker could remain undetected
  • Identify visibility gaps in telemetry
  • Create new detections from hunting results

Why it matters

Skilled attackers often use legitimate tools and credentials that do not trigger alerts. Regular, structured hunting shortens the time such activity could go unnoticed and strengthens detection over time.

Common challenges we address

  • Concern that alerts do not cover current attacker techniques
  • Large volumes of telemetry that nobody reviews proactively
  • Recent threat reports relevant to your sector
  • Limited in-house hunting capacity

Scope and key activities

  • Threat-intelligence and ATT&CK-based hypothesis development
  • Analysis of endpoint, identity, network and cloud telemetry
  • Anomaly and baseline analysis
  • Investigation and validation of suspicious findings
  • Detection opportunity identification
  • Escalation to incident response if active compromise is found
Methodology

Our approach

Work starts with an assessment of your needs and a written scope. Pricing follows that scoping and sizing.

  1. HypothesizeDefine hunt hypotheses based on threats relevant to your organization.
  2. CollectConfirm which data sources are available and fit for each hunt.
  3. HuntQuery, analyze and pivot through telemetry to test each hypothesis.
  4. ValidateInvestigate findings with your team to separate benign from malicious.
  5. OperationalizeConvert results into detections, hardening actions and future hunts.

Deliverables and outcomes

  • Hunt report with hypotheses, data examined and results
  • Validated findings with evidence
  • New detection logic and tuning suggestions
  • Telemetry gap list
  • Recommendations for continuous hunting

Typical use cases

  • After publication of a threat report relevant to your sector
  • Periodic hunting to supplement a SOC
  • Following a security incident at a supplier or peer
  • Before a major business event or system go-live

Who it is for

  • SOC managers
  • Threat intelligence and detection teams
  • CISO

Engagement options

  • One-off hunt campaign on selected hypotheses
  • Recurring hunting cycles, where agreed

Prerequisites

  • Access to centralized telemetry (SIEM, EDR, identity and cloud logs)
  • Sufficient log retention for the period to be examined
  • A named contact to validate findings

Frequently asked questions

How is threat hunting different from a compromise assessment?

Threat hunting tests specific hypotheses, often as an ongoing practice. A compromise assessment is a broader, time-bound review to answer whether there is evidence of current or past compromise.

What if you find an active attacker?

We notify your nominated contacts immediately and, with your agreement, move into incident response.

What data do you need?

Endpoint, identity and network telemetry are most valuable. We assess what is available at the start and tell you if gaps limit what can be hunted.
